movie reviews on I am Legend and The Golden Compass

I was really disappointed with this movie. I guess, I expected more from Will Smith.The movie for me was "Lacking in Action" of course there was scenes in which Will Smith was being chased by hungry human zombies, but that's about it, nothing exciting.

As a lot of people know the scoop about the movie, Will Smith was the only man left in New York, he was a former colonel and also a scientist, who lost everything. His family and even his dog who was his only companion. Will Smith wanted to find a cure for the virus who transformed people into zombies, in which he did find, but like what I said that's about it.

The Golden Compass, was good. It's a trilogy so this being the first sequel was kinda ok for me
( like the Lord of The Ring: Fellowship of the Ring). Well, it wasn't anti-christ at all. I dont know why people are saying that but for me, it wasn't. The Magisterium is definetly not the Vatican. And I strongly believe that the Vatican is not capable of endangering children like the Magisterium. So I don't see what the fuss is all about, about the movie being anti-christ. Well, Im really hoping to see the 2nd sequel of the film . I hope it would be better.

my first bar experience

This is the drink called BJ, it was my first time to try it. But, naging favorite ko na. Dito na lasing ate ko.

This experience has long been over due.Hehehe. Finally, I was able to go to the bar with my sister. Actually, I wasn't that thrilled na pupunta kami ng bar. I was kinda worried na I wouldn't fit in. Well, to my surprise it was really fun and unforgettable. Aside from the fact that it was my first bar experience, unforgettable because my ate was the one who got drunk and vomited.HAHAHA.The real plan was that I dapat ako ang lalasingin.But, fortunately that didn't happen. Haay. Good thing was that when I was beginning to feel tipsy because of drinking margarita's and BJ, I stopped. I knew na if I would continue to drink I would really be wasted and I dont like that to happen. I like to be in control of things, and of course in the back of my mind I thought na whatever happens I should take care of my elder sister. Weird??Isn't it??Because she was the one who was supposed to be looking out for the both of us. Well, I guess that's just the way it is between the both of us. I was the strong one and she was the weak one.

Anyways, it turned out to be a really great experience. And I would really like for it to happen again.

The Guardian

I have always wanted to read a Nicholas Sparks novel, unfortunately, it was seemed too expensive for me,because, there were a lot of important things that I should spend my money, so I didn't bother to buy it.
Fortunately, I was lucky enough to come across this novel "The Guardian" in a booksale. And I tell you, usually they didn't really have books like this on a booksale. Desperately I hid it in the bookshelf and I promised my self that I would buy it the other day. When I came back, it was still there, and I was really happy that i hid it.
Findrs keepers...I told myself.

It was a amazing,heartwarming novel. It made me cry, that was unusual because, I never really cry on a novel,but this one changed everything.

Julie Barenson, was only 25 years old when Jim Barenson, her husband, had died because of a brain tumor. On Christmas Eve, Julie got a gift from somebody she didn't know. When she read the letter inside it, she learned that it was Jim, who sent her the gift. What was the gift Jim gave her? A Great Dane puppy. In Jim's letter, he said that he gave it to her so that she would have a companion and he promised that from wherever he was, he would always be watching her to keep her safe. She named the dog Singer.

After four years, Julie has finally moved on with her life, she was dating again. And Singer, was very protective at Julie, he would bark all the men Julie dated, except for one, Mike, Jim's bestfriend and who also has feelings for Julie. Julie would talk to Singer over things like he was a human being. And in a starnge way she knew that singer understood her.

And then Julie met Richard Franklin, a sophisticated engineer who treats her like a queen. Mike, thought that all hope was gone when he saw Julie and Richard kissed. But, Julie felt that there was no chemistry between her and Richard and decided to end it. Julie, finally got the nerve to ask Mike out after years of thinking that she might betray Jim in a way because she would go out with his bestfriend.

Julie thought that, Richard wouldn't bother her anymore, but she was wrong. Richard was stalking her. Richard Franklin, was a dangerous man, who would kill a person if thats the only way to get his way. Julie knew this and so did Mike and Singer.

After what happened to Julie's officemate Andrea ( who Richard almost killed), Julie decided to go out of town, until the investigation was finished. But even if she was in hiding with Mike, Singer and Pete ( a policeman) she knew that Richard would still find her.

She was right, Richard did find her and he waited for the right time to take her. But first, he would take care of Singer, because, he knew that there was something strange about Singer. He was able to poison Singer with a hamburger he put on a porch, this he knew would cause commotion and he would have the chance to go to the house.

He did it succesfully, he poisoned Singer, knock out Pete and shoot Mike. Julie was running for her life. She was the only one left. And Richard had here, and when Julie thought all hope was gone, out of sight, Singer came and jumped at Richard and bit him. But, Richard had a gun and shot Singer, just in time Jessica ( the detective) came and shoot Richard. Julie wept for Singer. Singer died, but it was miracle the veterinarion said to Julie that Singer was able to run and attack Richard even if he was poisoned because dogs would have died right away.

And so, they buried Singer in Julie's backyard. 2 months after the incident, Mike and Julie stayed together.Julie dreamt about Jim and Singer, they were walking way form her. She yelled at them and ran, but she didn't get near them. Jim looked at Julie and Singer barked at her and walked again. Julie woke up and took the letter of Jim tand read it. She realized that Jim kept his promise that he would always look out for her to keep her safe. And Singer was ot only her companion but also her Guardian.

happy birthday to me!!!!

Yep, I just celebrated my 20th birthday. It was a tiring day for me. It was a sunday, and supposedly I should be resting in our house, spending time with my family and being lazy because its my birthday. Unfortunately, that's not what happen. I woke up early 4:30am because I have a make up duty in the hospital, my duty was up to 6am-2pm That duty ate half of my birthday.
When I finally came home, my mom and my sister were already cooking my handa. I was happy because they didn't force me to help them, because they know that I was so tired. So I took a nap and woke up around 4pm. I went downstairs and ate shanghai. Even though my birthady was really simple I was still very happy. I like my birthday to be celebrated as simple as it is. Kami kami lang ng family ko.


Then after we all finished eating dinner, we watched Resident Evil 3, which was really good. I never watched the Resident Evil 1 & 2, so I was surprised that it was really a good movie. Good movie, good story & definitely good effects. I love the part when Alice( Milla Jovovich) killed the crows with her telekinetic abilities using fire. ASTIGG...I said to myself. I could use powers like that every once in a while.hahaha.


Eventhough Im getting old, Im overwhelmed with the experiences I've been through in my 20 years of life on Earth. Im happy that I was able to overcome all the obstacles God gave me. Without those obstacles I wouldn't be the person that I am today. So I face life head on. And may the good Lord guide me.
